Lindenmeyr Munroe is recognized as a Roadie Award winner

Baltimore, MD (November 13, 2012) –Grupo Modelo, Lindenmeyr Munroe and Pollock Paper were recognized by Roadnet Technologies as the winners of the 2012 Roadie Awards, a competition recognizing organizations with vehicle fleets for excellence and innovation in Running Green, Operating Efficiently and Innovation within the transportation management industry. The awards were among the highlights of the recently-concluded Roadnet Technologies Users Conference held in Miami.

Operating in Mexico and North America, beverage company Grupo Modelo took top honors in the Operating Efficiently category. The organization completed a wholesale transformation of its delivery fleet with the incorporation of the Roadnet and Territory Planner, vehicle routing and scheduling software, into its transportation logistics programming. The company realized a fuel savings of approximately 7%, mileage reductions of nearly 1.9 million miles, while lowering emissions and achieving more balanced routes and on-time deliveries.

Pollock Paper, a Dallas/Fort Worth-based wholesale distributor of sanitary maintenance supplies, industrial packaging supplies and foodservice disposables, was recognized in the Innovation category. With distribution centers positioned in Texas and the lower East Coast, Pollock Paper searched for a solution to its customer diversity challenge, ranging from small restaurants to large manufacturing facilities. Customers rarely order on schedule and can vary from one to 500 cases of product. Utilizing Roadnet’s dynamic vehicle routing feature, Pollock Paper reduced its fleet size by 12% and improved time window accuracy and on-time deliveries to 99%.

In the Running Green category, paper and packaging distributor Lindenmeyr Munroe was cited for its ability to meet the overall environmental sustainability goals mandated by its company-wide recycling and energy saving initiative. The New York-based company depends on the Roadnet Transportation Suite of vehicle routing tools to track carbon emissions in conjunction with its bio-fuel program, while optimizing fleet utilization and increasing volume on each route.
This year’s Roadie Awards finalists were PSS World Medical in Operating Efficiently and Valley Proteins in the Innovation category.

“Each of the Roadie Award winners and finalists displayed motivation and creativity to solve the unique transportation logistics challenges facing their organization,” stated Len Kennedy, CEO of Roadnet Technologies. “The spirit of these awards was to draw attention to their compelling stories and shine the spotlight on the people that were so passionate about improving critical aspects of their companies.
